Committee records (1973-1977) include member list, correspondence, minutes, reports, budget requests, designs for the "URI-76" logo and a report to University President Frank Newman by the Narragansett Indian Sub-committee. Materials relating to individual projects (1973-1977), in particular the publication of the Cruising Guide to Historic Rhode Island, the Underwater Bicentennial Project to retrieve artifacts from two sunken British warships off Newport, R.I. and an archaeological dig at the Watson House on the URI campus, include project descriptions, reports, correspondence, photographs and news clippings. Printed and published materials include brochures and pamphlets describing historic sites and tourist attractions in Rhode Island used as research sources in compiling the cruising guide and publications of the Rhode Island Bicentennial Commission, the Division of Tourist Promotion of the Rhode Island Department of Economic Development and the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission. Memorabilia consists of flags, postcards, sheet music and printers' slugs commemorating the Bicentennial.
